Some years during
this month there was a Senior Class trip.
Just before Homecoming the
Senior rings were given out by Col. Richmond. Most underclassman
suffered "Senior Ring" head smashing!
The Friday of Homecoming brought parents
and girlfriends to campus! Saturday was the big Homecoming Full Dress
parade.
Friday afternoon varsity football games. The C.O.'s go on 11pm Friday leave. The following Friday, the Senior's go
on their Friday evening leave.
Halloween Tradition:
If the Halloween evening meal was not extra
large and delicious, it would end up covering the guard house!
Monthly classroom testing!.... "Let's see who can make the biggest
explosion!"
Speaking
of "explosions"; FIREWORKS of all kinds were very much a passion at KMI.
That is, a passion among the cadets and a challenge for the administration!
Each school year brought new attempts to devise inventive ways to shoot
off M-80s', cherry bombs, etc. The burning cigarette and the fuse
was always good for complete stealth. The real challenge was finding
a way to launch them without being seen. "Water balloons" also qualified
in this category.
