Subject: Proposed KMI Cadet Statute Site

Hello All: Hope everyone has had a great summer! Sure has been hot!

I went to Venice today for several things:

1. Measurements for proposed statute area - at least 4 ft X 4 ft in grassy area behind KMI Plaque. Grass area has arched walkway from back of KMI Plaque. Height from ground to top of KMI Plaque 3 ft 2". Distance from base of KMI Plaque to sprinkler head 10" (the city will have to relocate the sprinkler head). They will also need to relocate that unsightly trash receptacle from alongside the KMI Plaque.

The Gunther-Goebel Williams statute photo was included for an expensive reference. The base of the statute looks like granite of similar type material. Real fancy!

2. Meet with Dorothy Korwe, with the Venice Archives. She is retiring end of Sept 07. My plan is to meet with her and her replacement in Nov/Dec to discuss our future memorabilia efforts.

That's it for now. Open for suggestions or direction. Still need and artist's rendering of proposed statute before I can go to the city for discussion of the statute and location.
